Reinstalling Windows XP
I have been struggling to reinstall my windows XP operating system on my home computer tonight and am stuck right in the middle. I have successfully moved all the important files to a new disk drive (Seagate 300 GB) and removed the old partition but it now seems to freeze in the process. So basically, I am having trouble reinstalling the software.
Any suggestions on what might be the problem?

Your problem is your are installing Windows XP. You should be installing Mac OSX.

Absolutely correct. I wish that I could on a PC. My next purchase of a computer is hopefully a Mac. But who knows. They are so much more expensive. I am such a cheap wad. But I guess, I pay for it in the end. You’re tempting me. We are so poor right now.

I tried again to reinstall windows on the new hard drive to see if that would take without any problems. It seems that I am having some more hardware types of problems. Any suggestions?

I understand the cost issue with a Mac. My home computer is still a PC. Thank goodness I have a mac laptop at work. The cost of a mac is starting to come down. They have the mac mini right now which is a great deal. The price should come down further now that they are switching to intel chips. At least I hope it does so I can get a mac for my next home compter. The multimedia stuff on a mac is great.
Sorry I am no help at all on installing windows.
