Richard Marx Concert

Well from my music history you probably wouldn’t have predicted my attendance at a Richard Marx concert. The impossible has happened; I attended his concert tonight at the Scera Outdoor Theatre in Orem, UT. Marlene bought our season tickets to the plays and concerts at the Scera theater this year. I have been in particular impressed by the years shows and concerts that we’ve attended. I think that it is pertinent to us to know how much we’ve loved being a part in helping this type of music continue.
Richard was humuorous throughout the show and came off a good performance. He seems to be transitioning from the rock/pop scene to a rock scene similar to that of “The Boss” Bruce Spingsteen. The venue was a grassy hillside and was a great scene to enjoy typical 80′s music. He did a marathon show. He was also funny with anecdotes about his life and the writing of some songs, (like the history to the song “Hazard”). Other songs he played were “Hold on to the night”, “Endless Summer Nights” (Marlene’s favorite for the night), and “Right Now Waiting for You.” He also played a new song, “Through Your Veins” and it was great. Can’t wait for the single to come out.
Important notes: He played a Vertical Horizon song that sounded pretty good on acoustic guitar. They played most of the night and it was a good time had by all. Folks were screaming like girls at the musicians and professing their love to Richard Marx. It was a loud show and Marlene loved knowing lots of the lyrics to the music.
