Barry Sanders: Greatest Running Back of All-Time
It has been a little while since I’ve posted any sports posts. So I have been thinking about Barry Sanders and his decision to leave the NFL. My story is that I learned he’d retired the day I returned from my mission in Brazil (actually the day I was leaving - on the plane from a Baptist who sat next to me). He had invited me to film with him in Brazil since I knew the language (that didn’t pan out), but I was devastated that my favorite running back of all time was retiring. I was sad on that trip home. I had looked forward throughout my mission to come back and watch him play. Well in my time since, I have seen some amazing footage on google video and youtube and sites like that. I wanted to make a post dedicated to him. I am still a Detroit Lions fan to this day and hope that they return to some semblance of glory. We’ll see how this season pans out. Barry has been the best draft pick they’ve ever had and they’ve had some high picks since they are annually a pretty bad team.

His college days at Oklahoma State University. He had been a back up to Thurman Thomas for a couple of years before he had his chance to shine in the 1988 season.
