J. Golden Kimball

I remember that my grandfather Scoville (Ellsworth Earl Scoville) was often stated that he reminded people of J. Golden Kimball. I remember his stories including lots of “hells” and “damns” that I too have thought and said that about Grandpa Scoville. Today I stumbled across a few sites that talk about J. Golden and have some of his quotes.
Here are a few pictures of my Grandpa Scoville.
I think there are some similarities, although not a perfect match. Here are some of my favorite quotes from J. Golden Kimball.
“Cut me off from the church? They can’t do that! I repent too damn fast.”
“I may not walk the straight and the narrow, but I sure in hell try to cross it as often as I can!”
“I understand you brethren can’t go on missions because you swear too much. You can overcome it. Hell, I did.’ ….
See the official J. Golden Kimball website, or others. Grandpa Bill’s site. Here are few more quotes. A memorial about J. Golden.

These are some nice shots of Grandpa and Grandma Scoville - and of course J. Golden. I liked the quotes and they indeed remind me of Grandpa Scoville.

Thanks. I love the quotes. I miss Grandpa. It seems that I’ve talked about his a little lately. I miss his laughter and how he always seemed excited to see you when they were visiting. Not that in any Grandma Scoville wasn’t like that. Quite the opposite, but I just miss him.
I wonder what Grandma and Grandpa would think of our families or what they do think on the other side. Do they think our kids are adorable? Like I do. I am sure they do. What do they think of my life choices and what I’ve done with my life.
I wonder at times also about Grandma and Grandpa Michie and hope that in some way they find joy in seeing us (they grandchildren) growing up and moving on with life.
I think there is so much to be amazed with that I just wonder what those that have died think at times.
