I’m not huge on Ozzy but this kid is pretty dang good. He’s only 10 year’s old. I hope that he comes out with some original good music. I found this by way of Ellen’s Tweets.

Best Music of 2008

I’ve listed on this playlist some of my favorite music of this past year. New bands that I just can’t seem to get enough of are: The Gaslight Anthem, Ra Ra Riot, Mates of State. Veteran bands with excellent new albums are: Coldplay, Weezer, and Jack Johnson. And much more. Give the playlist a listen.

When the film played in Washougal and I was there watching it; I wasn’t sure how interested people were in the film. We had a 10 pm showing after a long drive from Utah to Portland through Roseburg to say hello to Marlene and the kids. Yes, we ran out of gas and thatb made it that much longer. But when we got to the local high school in Washougal and there was a big crowd watching fairly lame bang, bang, shoot em and knife em up flick, I was hopeful that many audience members would stick around. Well no only a few stayed and a few new audience members came. I liked the film and reviewed it earlier on this blog in August.

However it did receive the audience choice award for the festival and that is awesome and I was proud of my good friend Brandon Cahoon, the writer and director of this film about our lives in small town Utah.

I received a phone message last night from Brandon saying to check out the Torino Film Festival website on a few days at the of November schedule.

I then received a more official announcement via email from Brandon about its official acceptance into the Torino Film Festival.

Parade will be playing on three dates at the Italian Film Festival: November 22nd, 26th & 27th.

Congrats, Brandon. A much bigger Festival and one that has attracted the Academy Award winning Director, Oliver Stone. He will be showing his new film ‘W’ about George W. Bush. Not that I agree with his political leaning; but this is a huge festival and our little production is playing there. I know I say we but really this is a Brandon and Dayna production. I feel a part since I am a part of the original story.

Now we can hope that the great film will make it to DVD and maybe some extras will be created.

Also the awesome Movie Soundtrack might be a reality. If you haven’t seen the film or heard from Brandon about the music. Keep pushing for soundtrack to come out.

This would be an amazing flight to go over to Europe to see the film at this huge festival. The distance, price, time, and the fact that my passport I think expired last year doesn’t help.

This soundtrack was memorable during my growing up years; not so much the actual movie which was marginal, but the soundtrack is classic. Enjoy and Buy if you like it.

Juno B-Sides Soundtrack – We bought the whole thing and really enjoy it. Hope you do too.

I’ve been listening to Eddie Vedder’s Soundtrack from the movie “Into the Wild.” Although I’ve not seen the movie because of the rating (maybe I’ll see an edited version). However, the soundtrack is an excellent set of songs put together by Eddie.

My favorite is Society. Give the soundtrack a listen below. Society has a great message that we can all take home about money and wanting things.

I got a message from Marlene letting me know that a family that I hometeach invited me to go to the Stone Temple Pilots concert with them. Apparently they had someone bail out and I got a chance to go. It was pretty awesome. I could tell the crowd is mainly older (like me) and that the mosh pit wasn’t there nor much of the dancing that you’d maybe have seen in the old days.

About the concert: STP sounded fabulous. They great. I loved all the good music. They didn’t play any new music but the music was crisp and played with energy and enthusiasm. Scott Weiland is a bit weird. He seemed incredibly skinny. Probably due to the many years of drugs and wild living…

The opening band was from Salt Lake City, UT. They were decent. Here is shot of the Royal Bliss.

I was reading about the band and the lead singer was paralyzed and has recovered to full ability to use his legs and he was dancing and jumping at the show. That is a pretty cool story.

Brian Regan is touring the U.S. and he’s coming to Utah in August. Tickets are not on sale yet. But I think it would be fun to go.
