Since I came back from my mission in Brazil in 1999, I have almost always had cell phone. I ordered a phone through Nu Skin when I worked there and I really loved my old black Nokia phone. Well since then I have had a variety of phones (from the cheap phones to smart phones, i.e., my palm treo and my blackberry) and worked with several cell phone companies (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint). I have to say that for the last 3 weeks since I’ve been without a cell phone I’ve been in quite a pickle. I’ve wanted to remain without a phone but have come to the decision that it is in my best interest and Marlene’s that I get one. For work purposes, I’ll be signing up with my mom and Sarah on their family plan. I’ll also probably use my dad’s Palm Treo or my sister-in-law’s LG Chocolate. My brother and his family are at Disneyland in California and I’ll have to wait for them to return and send them to me to make a decision.
I need a phone. If anyone nearby (as in Provo/Orem/Salt Lake City) has an old Verizon phone, I’d love to inherit it for at least a little while. I am trying to reopen an old GoPhone that we got for Marlene from AT&T. While theoretically, these phones seem useful, I’ve found them to use my money very quickly (fees and minute to minute charges) and then today I found out that since I hadn’t filled my phone for over a month, they’ve since cancelled my account and given Marlene’s phone number to someone else. I now have to go out and buy a new Sim Card from AT&T to get this phone to work, that is all before I pay to have minutes put on my phone so I can actually make a phone call out.
I can’t wait to get my phone up again. I’ll wait even longer for my chance to get a genuine iPhone. I just play around with my iPod Touch and pretend that I’m actually cool when I’m really not. Just like the guys/gals one used to see walking around in stores, pretending to be talking to someone, when in fact they aren’t.
