If you enjoyed the Saturday Night Live’s of the 1990’s and you remember Jack Handey’s Deep Thoughts and you use a Wordpress blog (I don’t believe you can make additions to the wordpress.com blogs). Whether or not you are using Joe’s Quotes Plugin or Joe’s Quotes Widget. This quote add-on is for you.

If you use the JQP Plugin
then you don’t need to worry about the directions for the widget. But
you must first have the JQP plugin activated. Then proceed to the
bottom two paragraphs of this page.

If you are using the Wordpress Widgets
in your blog’s theme, then the following directions are for you. You
must have the Wordpress Widgets installed and working for these
directions to be helpful.

Please download this addition to the Wordpress Widget “Joe’s Quotes Widget.” You’ll find within this zip file a compatible version of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey for “Joe’s Quotes Widget.” Merely, follow the directions on Joe’s Quotes Widget page. You’ll need to first download the plugin from Joe’s Download.

There are so many useful wordpress plugins from Joe that you might find handy. So please feel free to browse his downloads
page. You’ll also notice at the bottom of the page that there are
numerous “quote” add-on’s that are available to use with this great
wordpress plugin. I love this wordpress random quotes widget because of
the feature that allows you to add photos next to the quotes. Quite
cool. Joe is great to work with also. He was very helpful with any
problems that I had in getting the Widget to work.

Once you’ve downloaded the JQW
file, you’ll first need to add it to your ftp site in the
wp-contents/plugin/widget section. Second, you go to the Wordpress
Admin menu section of your website. Third, you activate the Joe’s Quote
Widget plugin. Then, you proceed to the Sidebar Widget’s tab under
Presentation in the Admin menu and locate it in the sidebar where you’d
like it to display on your website/blog.

Then the purpose of coming to this site, you’ll
want to add the Jack Handey’s Deep Thoughts to your site by dowloading
the zip file below. Then you’ll go back to your ftp site and add the
files within the zip to the wp-contents/plugins/jqw file (if using the
plugin, not the widget) or wp-contents/plugins/widgets/jqw (if using
the wp widgets). You’ll notice that the original files that came from
Joe’s Quote Plugin already have the Simpson’s picture (.gif) and quote
text (.txt) files. You just need to have uploaded either the zip file
(if your ftp service uncompresses them when you add them to the
widget/jqw file or the quotes text file (.txt) with the deep thoughts picture thumbnail file (.gif). Then now go click and refresh your browser to enjoy the new the deep thoughts from Jack Handey.
